GUEST SPEAKER: Jennifer Jaques, MIES, LC

Jennifer entered the lighting industry in 1995 when she joined Wide-Lite Corporation and worked for five years as an application engineer. She founded Lighting Application Sciences, LLC in 2000 to provide out-of-house photometric and technical services to lighting manufacturers, sales representatives, and others.

In 2007, Jennifer had earned her Lighting Certification from the National Council of Qualified Lighting Professionals. In 2008, she became the Authorized Texas instructor for Lighting Analysts’ AGi32 lighting software; certified to teach basic, intermediate, and roadway levels of the software.

She has been a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society since 1995. During that time she served the Austin section leadership as Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary, and Education chair. She was IES Conference steering committee chair in 2012 and 2013, and 2014 advisory member. In November 2013, she became proud recipient of the IES Presidential Award. Currently, she is the IES South Regional director covering districts 3 and 4 and serves on the IES Board of Directors, and has been re-elected to serve a second term in this role. In addition, she is currently on the advisory board for the Austin IES section, since finishing up another term as Education chair.

With 22 years of experience in lighting, Jennifer has established an outstanding reputation in the industry for honesty and thoroughness.  She, her husband, and two daughters (teenager and Aggie) live in San Marcos, where they enjoy a great sense of community and beautiful hill country views. After a day of all things lighting, Jennifer unwinds by cooking, walking the dogs, dabbling in the garden, and considering whether or not to exercise.
